We're here to help you unleash your business's untapped potential, boost your [00:01:00] visibility, and maximize your investments. Let's dive into the world of Simplified Solutions. Stay tuned and let's simplify success together.

Today, we'll be discussing a topic that is often underestimated, but can greatly benefit small businesses. The importance of having a blog on your website.

Over the past few episodes, we've been exploring the key elements of your online presence and how you can use that to elevate your business. And in our most recent episode, we explored the significance of websites in establishing your online presence. If you haven't listened to that one yet, I encourage you to go do that.

And now today, we are going to dive even deeper into why blogs are a vital component of your website success. Blogs are often overlooked by small businesses, but they hold immense potential to drive growth, engagement and success. They [00:02:00] provide a platform for you to communicate and connect with your audience in a more personal and meaningful way.

Let's stop right here and tackle a major misconception that might be on your mind. Aren't blogs dead? Wasn't that a thing of the past? Does anyone even read them anymore? Well, I'm here to tell you, that's just not true. People read blogs and people enjoy blogs. According to a recent HubSpot article, blogs continue to be extremely valuable for lead generation, brand awareness, and one of my favorite words, SEO.

And they're still popular among consumers. A HubSpot study found that 60 percent of people read a blog at least once a week. So blogs won't be out of marketer's toolbox anytime soon and they shouldn't be out of yours. When you hear that blogs aren't worth it, here's a tip. Don't listen because they are [00:03:00] worth it.

So stay tuned and you'll soon discover why blogs play a crucial role in enhancing your website and why your business absolutely needs one. And if you stick around until the end of this, I'll be sharing some practical tips on what topics you can use for your blog posts. The number one reason why your business needs a blog is because it's the simplest way to ensure your website remains constantly refreshed with new and engaging content.

In today's fast paced digital world, it's crucial to have fresh content on your website that reflects your industry expertise, showcases your products or services, and addresses your customers pain points. By regularly updating your blog with valuable and relevant content, you not only provide your audience with new information, but you also [00:04:00] demonstrate that your business is active, engaged, and committed to serving their needs.

Maintaining a fresh website is effortless. Just publish a new blog post. The best part? You're in control of the schedule, whether it's weekly, monthly, or even daily. Each post is an update to your website at your convenience. I would, of course, recommend you stick to a consistent schedule to help your readers and the internet know what to expect from you.

We are currently updating our blog three times a week, a schedule that not only works for me, but also my team. However, it's essential to craft a schedule that aligns with your business's needs and keyword here, your capabilities. If you want to check out my blog and see what we post about, spoiler alert, it's about ways to help small businesses, check out the link below.

The second benefit to regularly adding blog posts to your [00:05:00] website is, here comes that word again, SEO or Search Engine Optimization. Having a blog can significantly boost your website's search engine rankings. When you consistently publish high quality, keyword optimized blog posts, search engines like Google recognize your website as a valuable source of information. This in turn improves your website's visibility in search results, making it easier for potential customers to find you.

Regularly updating your blog with fresh content gives search engines another reason to crawl your website. I'm not going to get too technical, but each time you publish a new blog post, search engine crawlers, revisit your website to index the new content. This keeps your website on the radar and helps maintain a strong online presence.

In a recent episode on SEO,[00:06:00] we discuss how search engines, including Google crawl your site for content. After you finish this episode, you can easily access it by clicking the link below. I promise you this, SEO is not as hard as you may think it is. Reason number three why you need a blog on your website is because having a blog creates an excellent opportunity for you to connect with your audience on a deeper level.

It also allows you to showcase your expertise, share industry insights, and provide valuable tips and advice by consistently providing this kind of valuable content. You build trust with your audience and position yourself as a go to resource in your industry. Additionally, a blog opens up avenues for engagement with your audience.

Encouraging comments and feedback on your blog post allows you to have meaningful conversations with your customers [00:07:00] and potential customers. This interaction not only helps you better understand your audience's need, but also strengthens the relationship between your business and its customers. That's a win win.

We are on to tip number four on why you need a blog section on your website. And if you haven't been convinced yet, this one just might do it. When you create content on your website, like a blog post, you own that content. No matter what you might think, I share on social media. Why do I need a blog post to sharing about your business on social media is great.

You should be doing that, but you can't put all your eggs in one basket. Well, you can, but I don't recommend it. Or all your content on one platform, social media, and your blog are key elements of the big picture of your online presence quick note. If you want to understand more about your business's online presence and understand its pivotal role in driving [00:08:00] growth, I recently launched a brand new six week program dedicated to this very topic.

The registration doors are currently open and will remain so for a few more weeks. You can get all the details in the link provided below. It will be a game changer for you and your business. So while social media channels can be powerful tools for reaching your audience, they come with their own set of limitations.

Platforms rise and fall in popularity, algorithms change, and your content can easily get lost in the noise. But your blog hosted on your own website remains a constant and reliable source of information for your audience. By having your own blog, you have complete control over the content, design, and functionality.

You are not subject to the whims and policies of social media platforms, nor do you have to worry about sudden changes that can drastically affect your visibility or reach. Your blog is a valuable [00:09:00] asset that you own and can leverage to its full potential. Additionally, having a blog allows you to establish your brand's voice and identity.

You can fully customize the look and feel of your blog to align with your brand's aesthetic. This consistency across your website and blog help create a cohesive brand experience for your audience fostering trust and recognition. Blogs are like timeless resources that remain accessible on your website indefinitely.

They can easily be archived, organized, and categorized. Making it simple for your audience to find and reference them whenever they need information or guidance, this longevity allows your blog posts to continue attracting new readers and generating traffic long after they are published. So there are four of the countless reasons why having a blog on your website is essential.

Firstly, it effortlessly keeps your website updated with fresh content [00:10:00] showing your active engagement with your audience. Secondly, it's significantly boosts your website's SEO by attracting search engines with valuable content. Thirdly, it deepens connections with your audience, building trust. And authority in your industry.

Lastly, you own and control your content, providing security and independence from changing social media platforms, plus your blog's timeless nature continues to attract readers long after publication. Now we all know blogs are essential, but I know the next question is probably this.

What should I blog about? When it comes to deciding what your business should write blog posts about, the key is to strike a balance between your expertise and your audience interest and needs. Start by addressing common pain points or questions your customers often have related to your industry or products.

Providing solutions and valuable insights can position your business as a trusted [00:11:00] resource. Additionally, consider sharing success stories, customer testimonials, or case studies to showcase how your offerings have positively impacted others. Don't shy away from industry trends, news or updates, staying current demonstrates your commitment to excellence. Lastly, infuse a personal touch into your blog by sharing your company's culture. Team stories, or one of my favorites, behind the scenes glimpses. Remember, the goal is to create content that resonates with your audience, educates, entertains, and ultimately drives engagement.

And remember, [00:12:00] these are just a few ideas to inspire you. It's essential to tailor your blog content to your specific business and your target audience. Listen to your customers, understand their pain points and interest, and create content that addresses their needs. By providing valuable and relevant information, you can establish yourself as a trusted resource, and attract a loyal following. One last thing, and if you know me, you know I have to include video. I highly recommend that you include video in your blog post. You hear me talk all the time about how valuable video content is for your business, and your blog post is no exception. Adding even a short video can significantly increase the value and impact of your content.

It allows you to convey information, tell stories and connect with your audience in a dynamic and visually appealing way. [00:13:00] By including videos in your blog posts, you can bring your content to life and capture the attention of your readers. Creating videos does not have to be complicated or require expensive equipment. With today's smartphones, you can easily record high quality videos. Whether it's a demonstration, a tutorial, an interview, or simply sharing your thoughts. A well produced video can add tremendous value to your blog post. So, don't underestimate the power of video. By including video in your blog post, you can elevate your content, engage your audience on a deeper level, and enhance the overall value of your blog.

In conclusion, having a blog on your website is not just important, but essential for small businesses. It allows you to keep your website updated with fresh content, boost your SEO rankings, connect with your audience on a deeper level. And establish yourself as a trusted [00:14:00] resource in your industry. Blogs are not outdated.

In fact, they continue to be valued by consumers and are a valuable tool for lead generation, brand awareness, and SEO. Remember your blog is an integral part of your online presence. And by investing time and effort into creating valuable content, you can drive growth. Establish authority and connect with your audience in meaningful ways.
