Today it's all about landing pages.

Landing pages are like a first impression. You only get one shot to hook your audience. They need to be clear, visually engaging, and laser focused on one goal, converting visitors into leads, customers, or clients.

So, what makes a landing page truly effective? I'm going to be breaking it down into five key elements you need. Share some common mistakes, and even highlight examples of landing pages [00:02:00] that work across different industries. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to get started. I love talking about landing pages.

A great landing page isn't just about looking pretty. It is about driving results. Let's break down the five key elements. Every high converting landing page should have number one, strong, clear headline. Your headline is the first thing visitors see. It should immediately communicate the value or benefit.

They'll get, for example, instead of saying, welcome to our program, say something about transform your blank in 30 days.

That can make all the difference. And people process visuals faster than text. So make sure your landing page includes high quality images or videos that reinforce your message. For [00:03:00] example, if you're a travel agency, use stunning photos of the destinations you're promoting to inspire action. Now, we have to talk about social proof.

You want to build trust with testimonials, customer reviews, or even trust badges. People are more likely to take action when they see others have benefited from your product or service.

For example, you can use a plugin that displays your Google reviews or snippets of reviews from past clients. Or you can include a short video testimonial from a satisfied customer.

Next up, single, clear calls to action. Your landing page should focus on one goal, whether it's signing up for a newsletter, scheduling a call or making a purchase, your call to [00:04:00] action needs to stand out. Use buttons with action oriented texts, like get started today or download the free guide or claim your spot.

Next up is a big one. Clutter free design. And let's be honest, all of these are very important, but I see so often people fill their landing pages with so much design and what it comes down to is distractions. Less is more. Avoid overwhelming visitors with too much information, too much going on on the page with your design, or multiple calls to action.

You want to keep the design clean and aligned with your brand. So, now let's talk about some common pitfalls that I recommend you avoid. Even if you have all the right elements, certain mistakes can [00:05:00] really Cause problems with your landing pages performance. First up, slow load time. Make sure to test your pages on desktop, tablet, mobile.

If your page takes too long to load, visitors will bounce, meaning they will immediately leave your page, even before they've seen all your content. Make sure to compress images if necessary. Minimize your writing, your content. And again, make sure to test it because it being optimized is really important.

The next one, lack of mobile responsiveness. And this is a big one people don't realize that a large percentage of visitors, well over 50 percent of website traffic comes from mobile devices. If your landing page isn't mobile friendly, You are definitely leaving money on the table. Now I've already mentioned this before, but I want to come back to it again.

Too much clutter. If you're overwhelming your [00:06:00] audience with just all kinds of text, a lot of images and calls to action that are just competing against each other, there's too much going on. A landing page should be simple and be focused. On a single goal, and I want you to make sure that you understand that a single goal.

I see a lot of times. Landing pages have 3 to 4 different options. People want to be directed. What's the next step? Not what's the next step? And I have 4 options. You can have people leaving without taking action because that's too many to decide from. Next, I want to talk about weak calls to action. If it's vague or if it's uninspiring, people won't click.

You have to be encouraging. You want to make your calls to actions, your CTAs, action driven and crystal clear. No gray area. Crystal clear. And I feel like I've mentioned this over [00:07:00] and over again, but please test. You want to constantly be testing and maybe that's trying. A B testing on your headlines, for example, different visuals, different calls to action to see what resonates most with your audience, not you, your audience.

So testing is really important with landing pages. Now I'd like to talk to you about some examples of effective landing pages from different industries. Just to get the wheels turning up there. So let's start with e commerce. So a beauty brand with a landing page offering a 10 percent discount in exchange for an email signup, it features a clear headline, a product image, and a single call to action, which is claim your discount.

Very simple. So let me talk about a service based business. A cleaning service offering a free quote. The landing page includes a [00:08:00] short testimonial video, a form to collect contact information, and a clear call to action. Get your free estimate. Now, note that I said a form to collect contact information.

We are not telling them to go and open up your email, whatever you use, and send an email to blank. That is too many steps and that's a mistake I see people make a lot. So having a form that collects contact information on your landing page can be a game changer. People may not be taking three or four step process to contact you.

So that's really important to talk about in this and in conjunction with the clear call to action. So now let's talk about B2B. So you have a SaaS company offering a free trial. The page highlights key features, includes trust badges, like used by blank number of [00:09:00] companies. Let's just say 5000 companies and a bold call to action start your free trial right there. That's clear concise call to action start your free trial And what's important for a SAS company is not only talking about the key features But those trust badges shows that people have had success with using this software or tool.

Now, these examples show no matter what your industry, the principles of a great landing page remain the same clarity, focus, and an irresistible offer.
